TROOP HISTORY (CONTINUED) On May 15, 1992, the unit was rechartered under the Benevolent Order of the Elks (B.P.O.E.) Lodge 2045 with a change in unit number to Troop 421, although the roster of boys, leaders, and committee members remained unchanged. With the change, Troop 421 looks ahead to additional experiences within the community as well as the outdoors. Through the pursuit of Scouting ideals as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law, we can help all involved to grow in their strengths and develop new abilities, gain an awareness of their environment during outdoor activities and an understanding of the world around them in their interaction with their community. The boys in Scouting today will grow into the leaders of tomorrow, and a quality program in Scouting can provide them with the skills to be effective, strong leaders. Everyone involved in our unit, young men or adult leadership, will be helping to shape the future. As BSA Troop 421, we will continue to strive for the kind of Scouting experience and opportunities to prepare these individuals for the challenges of tomorrow while enjoying the world in which they live today. Along with the unit change, the boys have continued to grow in the world of Scouting. During the weekend of May 15th our Senior Patrol Leader finished his Ordeal and has now become our first Order of the Arrow member from this troop.
